Flight bomb threats and hacked fridges: A new frontier of cyber warfare
8 de noviembre de 2026 · 35m
In Sunday’s episode of The Daily T, Camilla Tominey is joined by Jake Moore, a cyber-security specialist, to discuss the bomb hoaxes that grounded planes across Europe. Jake explains that the threat is all that is needed to cause panic and disruption by “weaponising fear”.
They also explore the ongoing worries about AI and how it could disrupt our lives, as well as looking at the supermarket fridge hacks that caused millions of pounds worth of damage.
Discussing how individuals can be affected, Jake explains that hackers do not care about people’s lives, saying that “you are not who you think you are: a hacker sees a number”. He breaks down how small pieces of information can lead to identity theft and worse. Jake also gives Camilla his top tips for staying safe online, and explains what passkeys are and why they’re so important for keeping yourself and your data secure.
