Out of his depth: Andy Burnham bottles Chagos deal after Trump meeting

In Wednesday’s episode of The Daily T, Camilla Tominey and Tim Stanley are joined by Tony Diver, The Telegraph’s Political Editor. Fresh from his trip to the UN General Assembly in New York, Tony discusses asking Donald Trump, the US president, about the Chagos Islands deal – leading to an embarrassing climbdown from the Prime Minister.

They discussed Andy Burnham looking nervous, and suggested he was “totally unprepared” and “possibly underqualified” for the world stage.

Plus, Piers Morgan discusses Earl Spencer’s inaccuracies and subsequent apology. The Uncensored host believes that Diana, Princess of Wales’s brother is “out to damage him” with the claims in his new book.

Asked whether he would be willing to negotiate if the Earl was to offer a donation to the King’s Trust in lieu of pulping the first edition of his book, Piers responded: “Everything’s negotiable.”
