Russell Brand guilty: A sexual predator in plain sight
5. november 2026 · 31m
In today’s episode of The Daily T, Camilla Tominey and India McTaggart discuss the verdicts handed down in Russell Brand’s trial, at which he was found guilty of one charge of rape and three of sexual assault. Camilla and India run through the history of allegations made against Brand from his time working at the BBC, and from previous investigations by Channel 4 and The Times and Sunday Times, and examine how the disgraced comedian was continuously promoted by broadcasters in spite of his “shady” reputation. They also discuss why Brand was lauded by Left-wing political parties and publications during his heyday in the spotlight, and analyse whether his shift to wellness and Christian-focused content on Right-wing, alternative media platforms constitutes an attempt at “reputation washing”.
