Álvaro Vizcaíno: 48 Hours Between Life & Death | Fear, Survival & Acceptance | Tomorrow, Today
6. oktober 2026 · 1h 39m
What happens when you are injured, alone, far from help, and suddenly forced to confront the possibility of death?
In this powerful episode of Tomorrow, Today, Shekhar Natarajan sits down with surfer, entrepreneur and survivor Álvaro Vizcaíno, whose extraordinary experience in Fuerteventura changed the way he understood fear, survival and the meaning of life.
In 2014, Álvaro fell from a cliff while exploring the coast of Fuerteventura. He suffered severe injuries, including a fractured pelvis and a damaged hand, and found himself stranded on a remote beach with no easy way out.
For more than 48 hours, he battled pain, dehydration, fear, hallucinations and exhaustion. Eventually, survival meant doing something that seemed almost impossible: getting back into the ocean and swimming toward the unknown.
But this conversation goes far beyond the accident.
Álvaro reflects on the moment he stopped fighting, accepted what was happening and experienced a profound shift in his relationship with fear. He explains why fear isn't necessarily the enemy, why acceptance can sometimes be more powerful than resistance, and why the next step matters more than knowing the entire path.
From surviving a life-threatening accident to finding a new sense of purpose, this is a conversation about resilience, courage, consciousness and what it truly means to live.
