What Breaks in Your Business When You're Not There?

1. november 2026 · 2m

If you were unavailable tomorrow, would customers still receive what you promised? Someone may know the task but lack the information to complete it. That gap deserves attention before an absence exposes it.

In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down how to prepare a business to keep operating when the person it usually depends on is not available.

Paul shares his goal of developing strong leaders and systems so every problem does not require his personal involvement. The practical starting point is one important task and an honest look at what another person would need to complete it.

Instructions alone are only part of the handoff. The right information, appropriate access, and a chance to practice help expose missing steps. Even a solo operator can begin by documenting recurring work and preparing for future support.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

• How to identify tasks that would affect customers during an absence.

• What information and decisions a backup person needs.

• Why a practice handoff reveals gaps written instructions can miss.

• How documenting one repeated task prepares a solo business for help.

The truth is simple:

Dependability requires a plan for changes in the usual routine. Start with the customer commitment most at risk and test how someone else would handle it.

Make the work clear enough to continue.
