In a League of Her Own | Tour de France Femmes Stage 2 Podcast

Lorena Wiebes made it two wins from two at the Tour de France Femmes, but Stage 2 was anything but routine. The road to Geneva was animated from the outset, with repeated attacks over the climbs before Lidl-Trek threw a late tactical punch through Riejanne Markus, whose solo move asked serious questions of SD Worx-Protime.

As Markus continued to dangle just ahead of the peloton deep into the finale, SD Worx were forced to commit everything to the chase, leaving Wiebes to fend for herself when the race finally came back together. It didn't matter. The yellow jersey found a gap exactly when she needed it, producing another explosive finish to beat Elisa Balsamo and Marianne Vos, strengthening her grip on the race lead in the process.
