UK PM Duped by Wiles Impersonator, Clancy Defense Begins, Lifeguard Honored at WH: AM Update 8/18

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham reportedly exchanged messages with someone impersonating White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles before becoming suspicious of the communications. Prosecutors rested their case in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial as the defense began presenting testimony about her mental state before she killed her three children. The Supreme Court declined for a second time to hear President Trump’s appeal of the $5 million E. Jean Carroll verdict, ending his effort to overturn that judgment. 16-year-old lifeguard Ryder Williams was honored at the White House alongside 10-year-old Nathaniel Rai, whom he rescued from dangerous surf in California.
